30-Second Homemade Nut Milk

IMG_4702.JPG

Ready for a time and money saving health hack? This 2-ingredient, 30 second nut milk recipe will change your life! I don’t drink dairy so I’m always making nut milk. While I love to make fresh nut milk from raw nuts, sometimes I just don’t have the time! I could purchase nut milk from the grocery store, but’s it’s often full of preservatives, stabilizers, fillers, artificial ingredients or sugar. So I prefer to make my own. That’s where this 30-second nut milk hack comes in!

Whenever I’m in a pinch and need some nut milk ASAP, I whip this up! It takes less than 30 seconds and lasts for up to 7 days in the fridge! All you need is water and some nut butter.

Typically I make this recipe with any old nut butter and water, but recently I got the chance to try JOI cashew nut base. This cashew base is just one ingredient — cashews! You simply blend some of the cashew nut base with water in the blender for 30 seconds and voila – fresh nut milk! I’ve been loving using JOI cashew nut base to make fresh, creamy cashew milk. I find that using this nut base creates a creamier consistency than typical nut butter. They also offer an almond nut base to make fresh almond milk! Use the code RBWELLNESS for 10% off if you want to try it!

Whether you’re using JOI nut base or regular nut butter, here’s how to make your own fresh nut milk in 30 seconds!

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 TBS JOI nut base or nut butter of choice

  • 1 cup cold water

Directions:

  1. Blend nut base/nut butter with water on high for 30 seconds.

  2. Add more water if you want it less creamy and add more nut butter/nut base if you want it even creamier!

  3. Store in the fridge for up to 7 days!

Tips:

  1. For regular drinking milk, use 1 TBS nut base/nut butter to 1 cup water.

  2. To make a coffee or tea creamer, use 2 TBS nut base/nut butter to 1 cup of water.

  3. Try sweetening your nut milk/creamer with 1-2 TBS maple syrup or some liquid stevia!

  4. Try flavoring your nut milk with vanilla, hazelnut or peppermint extract!

Whether you use JOI nut base or nut butter to make this, enJOI it!
