Need some healthy weekend brunch inspiration? These whole grain waffles are the perfect thing to make! They’re light, fluffy, and all around delicious!
I usually make them dairy free using coconut oil but they also taste great with butter or ghee! If you want to make them vegan, try using two flax or chia eggs instead of regular eggs! Let me know how it goes for you if you try to make them vegan. Here’s the recipe!
Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour (or use regular or gluten free flour!)
2 cups milk of choice (I use unsweetened almond milk)
2 eggs
2 TBS honey or maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup coconut oil, ghee, or butter (melted)
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Directions:
Heat up your waffle iron (I used a medium setting) and spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
Combine flour, milk, eggs, and melted butter/oil together in a large dish.
Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
Cook your waffles and enjoy!
Topping Ideas:
Fresh fruit
Maple syrup/honey
Coconut cream or whipped cream
Nut butter
Melted chocolate
Coconut flakes
