Vanilla Protein Bliss Balls

kartago dates 2.jpg

What’s your go-to snack? Fruit? Granola bars? Protein bars? Whatever it might be, I highly recommend you try these vanilla protein bliss balls for your next snack attack!

These bliss balls are full of protein, healthy fats and fruit sugar (hello dates!). They’re the perfect breakfast, snack or dessert! They provide immediate energy and long term satiation. Plus, they taste delicious!

What I love about these bliss balls is that they’re so versatile. You can use whatever nuts and protein powder you want! They’re naturally gluten free, dairy free, vegan and paleo! I like to enjoy these pre or post workout. The carbs, fats and proteins help to fill me up and provide me with quick energy!

Here’s the recipe! Feel free to use any protein powder or nut/nut butter combination. I just did egg white protein powder and used walnuts/walnut butter because that is what I had on hand.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup walnuts

  • 1/4 cup walnut butter

  • 10 dates (I use Kartago pitted dates)

  • 1/2 tsp salt (if using unsalted nut butter)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup unflavored or vanilla protein powder (I used egg white protein powder)

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a food processor and process until smooth.

  2. Test the batter. It should be able to roll into balls without falling apart. If it’s too dry, add more nut butter. If it’s too oily, add more protein powder.

  3. Roll into balls using the palms of your hand and store in a glass container or dish.

  4. Enjoy immediately or refrigerate until serving.

  5. Enjoy within a week or freeze for later use! Store in the fridge!

kartago dates 4.jpgI used Kartago dates to make these bliss balls. They’re pre-pitted which makes them so easy to use! Check them out here on Amazon! Who’s down to try these bliss balls? They’re a much cheaper to make than most snack bars you will find in the grocery store, which is another reason I love them! I’ll be sharing a chocolate fudge version of these soon – stay tuned!kartago dates 1.jpg
