Refreshing Tropical Mango Smoothie

IMG_2071.jpg

Are you team fruit flavored smoothie or dessert flavored smoothie? If you don’t know, here’s your quiz – would you take this tropical mango smoothie or a peanut butter cup smoothie? Personally, my favorite smoothies are dessert smoothies (peanut butter, chocolate, mint, etc!), but I know I have so many fruit smoothie lovers out there. If you’re a fruit smoothie fan, this ones for you! My husband says it’s the best fruit smoothie I’ve made! Check it out.

I slightly revised my recent smoothie bowl to make this smoothie (for all my “smoothie in a cup” versus “smoothie in a bowl” fans!). It’s perfect for on the go, breakfast in bed, or a mid-day snack! You can also make it ahead of time and store it in the fridge, making it the perfect meal prepped treat.

If you’re a fruit smoothie fan, you’re going to have to try this. Here’s the recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups mango (ideally frozen, see notes)

  • 1 very ripe banana (ideally frozen, see notes)

  • 1/3 cup full fat canned coconut milk

  • 1 cup coconut water

  • Chia seeds (optional, to top)

Directions:

  1. Blend everything in a high speed blender until smooth, adding more or less coconut water depending on the thickness you want.

  2. Pour into a glass and top with chia seeds. Enjoy immediately or refrigerate until serving!

Recipe Notes:

  • If you’re using fresh fruit instead of frozen, chill the smoothie in the fridge before enjoying.

  • You might want less coconut water if the ingredients aren’t frozen.

Have you ever tried coconut water before? Coconut water is a natural source of electrolytes, making it a much healthier sports drink option! Not only is it full of electrolytes, but it is also full of antioxidants, as well as vitamins and minerals. It’s super hydrating, super healthy and so delicious (in my opinion!).Try to get coconut water that is just coconut water with no added sugar!

What do you think? Does this sound like a smoothie flavor you would like? I hope you’ll try it out!
