Healthier peppermint mocha — vegan, keto, gluten free, paleo, dairy free and sugar free friendly! I know peppermint season might technically be over, but I am a fan of peppermint drinks/desserts all winter long! This peppermint mocha is delicious and nutritious, making it the perfect healthy and stress relieving drink that will satisfy your sweet tooth.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup strongly brewed coffee (regular/decaf)
1/2 cup milk of choice
1 TBS cocoa powder
1-2 TBS honey or maple syrup (try sugar free maple syrup or stevia to keep it sugar free/keto)
Tiny drop peppermint extract
Directions:
Heat milk in the microwave or on the stovetop and gently stir in hot coffee, cocoa powder, sweetener of choice & peppermint extract.
Whisk until well combined.
Froth with a hand frother to make it foamy (optional).
Top with whipped cream & crushed candy cane.
Recipe Variations:
Try melting 1/2 oz of your favorite dark chocolate bar into the milk instead of using cocoa powder. Omit cocoa powder and sweetener if you do. Use sugar free chocolate to keep it sugar free!
