What’s your favorite smoothie flavor? Mine has to be banana peanut butter, but this one is up there too! Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie – no added sugar! This one is for all my vegan, dairy free, paleo and refined sugar friends (or anyone adventurous enough to try it)!
The reason I’m calling this a smoothie rather than a shake is because it’s literally just a smoothie! Nothing unhealthy here – just your typical smoothie ingredients!
This very much tastes like a smoothie (so don’t be expecting to taste mint chocolate chip ice cream when you dive it on this ). If you’re looking for dairy free and vegan mint chocolate chip ice-cream, you can get the recipe here! If you’re ready to try this smoothie, here’s the recipe!
Ingredients:
3 ripe bananas, ideally frozen
3 TBS coconut butter or 1/4 cup full fat canned coconut milk
1 cup of spinach or 1/4 tsp spirulina powder (to add the green color!)
3/4 cup dairy free, unsweetened milk
Handful of fresh mint leaves (or use a little bit of mint extract – 1/8 tsp)
Handful of chocolate chips or cacao nibs
Directions:
Blend everything but the chocolate chips in a high speed blender.
Add the chocolate chips and blend for just a couple more seconds, until partially blended (you don’t want the smoothie to turn brown!).
Pour into two glasses and top with chocolate shavings or cacao nibs.
Serve immediately or chill before serving if you didn’t use frozen bananas.
Who’s going to give this smoothie a shot? Let me know in the comments If you’re down to try!
