DIY Buffalo Wings

IMG_8285.JPG

Although most of my recipes are vegan friendly, these DIY Buffalo Wings are not. They are gluten and dairy free, however, as well as keto and low carb! I used my air fryer to make these so we didn’t need to deep fry them and they turned out AMAZING! Ready to try them out?

I love using my air fryer to make healthier versions of typical deep fried foods (think fries, chicken tenders, wings, donuts, cakes, hash browns, and so much more!). My air fryer is a game changer and such a good investment! I’ll link here the air fryer I have and love!

Here’s the recipe and details! 👇🏻

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs chicken wings

  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce (see notes below)

  • Salt to sprinkle

Instructions:

  1. Pat chicken wings dry with a paper towel and sprinkle lightly with sea salt.

  2. Spray your air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray.

  3. Place your chicken wings in your air fryer and bake for 12 minutes at 360.

  4. Flip wings and bake another 12 minutes at 360.

  5. Flip wings on last time and bake for 6 minutes at 390.

  6. Meanwhile, pour 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce in a large bowl.

  7. Slowly add your cooked chicken wings to the bowl and stir until evenly coated with sauce.

  8. Plate and enjoy!

Notes:

  1. You can add 3 TBS melted butter, ghee or coconut oil to the wing sauce to thin in out, make it more flavorful, and reduce the spice level. If you do, just use 1/3 cup wing sauce instead of 1/2 cup.

  2. Add more wing sauce if 1/2 cup isn’t enough, just adjust to your liking!

  3. I used The New Primal buffalo wing sauce since the ingredients were so healthy and there was no added sugar! I also used Primal Kitchen Foods ranch for dipping the wings (since it’s dairy free – I love their products!).

What are your thoughts on buffalo wings? Are you a fan of hot or mild wings? I personally have to do super mild wings, but my husband (Derek) takes all the heat he can get!

Have you ever used an air fryer? What’s your favorite thing to use it for? I would love more ideas! Let me know in the comments! 👇🏻
