Who here likes to make themselves fancy tea or coffee drinks at home? I sure do. I love making myself coffee and tea lattes to sip while I work, it makes working at home more special and the work more enjoyable! Especially since Covid hit, my daily DIY lattes have come in handy!
Today I’m sharing one of my favorite homemade coffee/tea creamer recipes (a different one than before!) and an awesome tool you can use to froth your milk from home.
I’ve always wanted a milk frother to make DIY lattes but for some reason I’ve never bought one! I usually just blend my creamer and coffee in my Vitamix to make it foamy and frothy. But, I just got my first frother from Zulay Kitchen and I love it! It’s so easy to use and so affordable. I think the frother is only about $13. You simply place your creamer in a cup and froth it for 30-60 seconds with this tool and then pour it over your coffee or tea. It’s so fun, I feel like a professional barista over here! Here’s the coffee creamer recipe I used for my DIY lattes. Try it out and let me know what you think!
Ingredients:
1 (14oz) can full fat coconut milk (or use 2 cups half and half or any other milk of choice)
1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
2 tsp vanilla extract (or try some hazelnut or peppermint for a festive creamer! Just use less!)
Pinch of salt
Directions:
Blend or whisk coconut milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract and salt until well combined. Add more or less sweetener or extract depending on your preference!
Store in the fridge for 1 week!
Keto/Sugar Free Adaptions:
In order to make this recipe keto/low carb or sugar free, use a keto approved sweetener instead of maple syrup (like liquid stevia, monk fruit, etc.).
To make my lattes I simply frothed 1/3 cup coffee creamer in a glass measuring cup for 60 seconds and then poured it over my coffee! It was so frothy!
If you haven’t tried this coffee creamer for a DIY tea or coffee latte, you have to try it out! Enjoy!
