Ready for a sweet summertime superfood smoothie that is dairy free, paleo and gluten free? This smoothie is sweet, creamy and so good for you! Get the recipe and try it out!
Smoothies are one of the best ways to get superfoods into your diet (superfood is just a fun title given to highly nutritious foods and supplements). While many superfoods (blueberries, spinach, kale, green tea, etc.) can be consumed by themselves, some superfoods need to be blended into other recipes to mask the taste because on their own they don’t taste very good! One example of this is spirulina – a tiny alga packed with nutrients. It is known as the most nutritious food on the planet (gram for gram). It is packed with so many nutrients and antioxidants, and it is high in protein! I don’t recommend consuming it on its own – it does NOT taste good. However, it does make the perfect smoothie addition!
Another supplement I throw into my smoothies from time to time is collagen! Collagen is most often sourced from grass fed bovine and it is very high in protein. It is known to help support healthy hair, skin, nails and joints. I don’t use it often, but when I do, I love to use it in smoothies! Lono Life was so kind to gift me several collagen products, so I’ve been making all kinds of delicious smoothies with their collagen!
