I bought this cheap juicer from Bed, Bath and &Beyond last year and have loved using it. Use one of their 20% off coupons to save even more (it’s pretty cheap!). In my opinion, there’s no need to splurge on an expensive juicer unless you’re a juicing connoisseur.
Drinking fresh juice is super important, since most of the juices lining the shelves of your local grocery store are not good for your health. These juices have been pasteurized, resulting in lost nutrients, vitamins, enzymes and bacteria. They’re also usually very high in sugar.
I really love to make fresh juices, especially green or veggie based juices (like this beet juice!). These juices contain all kinds of nutrients, vitamins, enzymes and good bacteria — all of which are amazing for your health. I often choose to do predominately veggie based juices filled with veggies, ginger/turmeric and lemon, since these kinds of juices offer numerous nutrients, are detoxifying, and aid digestion. To sweeten my juices up, I simply add a half to whole piece of fruit.
Asides from tasting delicious, juices can support health in numerous ways. Here are some examples of what they do for us.
Alkalize the body
Improve gut health
Enhance detoxification
Boost immune health
