Acne Healing Foods

“You are what you eat.” What are your thoughts on this phrase? True or false? Whatever your thoughts on the phrase may be, one thing is certain – the foods you eat have a direct impact on your health, skin, mood, energy, etc. I recently shared a blog post listing some of that top foods that can trigger acne (dairy, sugar, alcohol and refined carbs). Today I’m sharing some of the top foods that help promote healthy, glowing skin! These foods are thought to reduce inflammation and provide your body with vitamins and minerals what will help to heal your skin (and help it glow!).

Here’s a checklist of some of the top foods to eat to achieve beautiful skin! How many of these do you eat on a weekly basis?

  • orange fruits and veggies (oranges, orange bell peppers, sweet potatoes, butternut squash)

  • raw nuts and seeds

  • red fruits and veggies (berries, red bell peppers, etc.)

  • legumes (beans, peas, lentils, chickpeas)

  • eggs (grass fed, cage free)

  • dark leafy greens (spinach, kale, romaine, etc.)

  • whole grains

  • avocados

  • wild salmon

If you don’t eat many of these foods on a regular basis, no need to worry! Slowly start to incorporate these foods into your diet one at a time! Smoothies and salads are both great ways to get these foods in. Don’t like some of these foods? Don’t worry, just stick with the ones you do like!

How many of these foods do you eat on a regular basis? Do you notice a difference in your skin when you’re eating more fresh foods as opposed to processed foods? I would love to hear your experience in the comments!
