
Need to satisfy your sweet tooth in a pinch? This chocolate mug cake is the perfect thing to make!
This mug cake takes less than 5 minutes to make start to finish and is the perfect single serving dessert to have on hand! You can make it gluten free, dairy free, vegan and nut free if necessary. Hereβs the recipe!
Ingredients:
2 TBS whole wheat or GF flour
2 TBS cocoa powder
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
3 TBS milk of choice (I used unsweetened almond milk)
1 egg (chia or flax eggs work or egg replacer)
2 TBS honey or maple syrup
1 TBS nut butter, coconut oil or grass fed butter (peanut butter is so good!)
Handful of chocolate chips
Toppings of choice (chopped nuts, diced fruit, drizzled nut butter, whipped cream, ice-cream, etc.)
Directions:
Combine dry ingredients to a large mug and mix well.
Add the wet ingredients and mix again.
Add a handful of chocolate chips (if using).
Microwave the mug cake for 1.5 – 2 minutes until itβs fully cooked.
Top with additional chocolate chips and spread them as icing.
Optional** Melt 1 TBS chocolate chips and 1 tsp coconut oil in a separate bowl and pour over the top for chocolate lava!
